Executive Biographies

Jack P. Gibson, President

Jack Gibson, president, is also president of ZERORISK HR's parent company, International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI). Following his employment with a national consulting firm, he joined IRMI in 1982, and he has been president of ZERORISK HR since it was founded. Mr. Gibson received his bachelor's degree and MBA from the University of Georgia. His technical training and background are in the areas of workers compensation and liability risk management and insurance, including employment practices liability. He also serves as technical advisor for the Management Liability Insurance Specialist continuing education and certification program, which focuses on risk management for employment practices liability, directors and officers liability, and fiduciary liability exposures.

Mike Poskey, Vice President

Mike Poskey played a key role in the formation of ZERORISK HR, and currently runs the day-to-day operations of the firm. With more than 17 years of human resources consulting experience, Mike has worked with hundreds of executives, human resource, recruiting, staffing, and organizational development professionals to improve their hiring practices and employee development programs on various levels. He has trained HR professionals on legal issues pertaining to using psychological instruments in the workplace, and has coordinated numerous validation studies on identifying critical emotional intelligence competencies in a variety of job titles and industries.

With a specialty in psychological testing, specifically working with the formal, deductive science of axiology, he has assisted in the design and development of emotional intelligence hiring and training programs for client companies such as Amazon.com, Sylvan Learning Centers, YMCA, and Group 1 Automotive, among others.

An active member of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and The Human Capital Institute, Mike has authored articles appearing in various SHRM and trade publications and has been an education speaker for regional SHRM chapters, HR Southwest Conference, and various trade and industry associations.

Mike previously served on the Board of Directors for the Dallas-Ft. Worth Staffing Management Association as VP of Workforce Readiness, and is currently on the Panel of Expert Advisors for Behavioral Sciences in Talent Management for The Human Capital Institute.

Dr. Robert Kinsel Smith, Senior Adviser/Consultant

Dr. Robert K. Smith is the creator of ZERORISK Hiring System, Clear Direction Management Development Program, Individual Contributor Development Program, and the Clear Direction Team Directory and is a consultant for and advisor to ZERORISK HR, Inc. Known as a leader in professional development, team-building, and executive advisory services, Dr. Smith is the author of four books including the award winning management book, Discover Your Blind Spots.

Dr. Smith has provided executive advisory services to companies such as EDS, the Department of Labor, NCR, Universal Studios, Comcast-Spectacor and the Sara Lee Corporation. His work is based on the science of axiology, a science discovered by Nobel Prize nominee Dr. Robert S. Hartman.

Dr. Smith has three graduate degrees, including a doctorate in human development and conflict management from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California. He also completed post-graduate studies at the Graduate School of Business, University of California at Berkeley. In 1980, Dr. Smith was named a case study fellow with Harvard's Graduate School of Business and had two cases published.

Dr. Smith is well known as a leader in formal axiology and in human resources issues such as behavioral interviewing, retention, pre-employment testing, hiring, motivating, management training, and team building. He is regularly a keynote speaker and interviewed by both radio and internet media.

Cathy J. Roberts, Vice President

Cathy Roberts, vice president, has been with the firm since it was founded. Also a vice president of IRMI (parent company to ZERORISK HR), she was previously employed with an international consulting firm. Mrs. Roberts is a member of the board of directors and executive committee. She is directly responsible for accounting, finance, personnel, and office management.

Mike Wojcik, Information Technology Director

Mike Wojcik, Information Technology Director, brought 15 years of information systems experience to ZERORISK HR when he joined the firm in 1999. Before coming to ZERORISK HR, he was vice president of management information systems with a multi-line insurer. In previous assignments, he led the information and technology organizations for two companies specializing in automated billing and collections of health insurance claims. Prior to that, Mr. Wojcik was a systems consultant and project manager for a premier systems consulting firm. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University. Mr. Wojcik is responsible for managing ZERORISK HR's information systems.

Heath Hilliard, National Sales Manager

Heath Hilliard is a National Sales Manager for ZERORISK HR, Inc. He has had extensive training in the hiring and development of managers, individual contributors, and teams. He has successfully consulted and trained hundreds of company personnel in various industries in their implementation of strategic hiring and development initiatives.

Heath began his career in the commodities industry and worked as a business development consultant for over 15 years. During this time Heath was instrumental in hiring and training a national sales force and building effective sales teams for a large, privately held manufacturing company. Through those experiences, Heath learned how critical it is to hire the right candidate and how communicating effectively is a key component to the increased productivity of a team.

During the course of his career, Heath has assisted and trained organizations such as Maxim Healthcare, McAfee, Bombardier Flex-Jet, Community Healthcare, Dal-Tile, Penske, Pacific Natural Foods, Transamerica Insurance, Walker Zanger, Walser Automotive Group, and numerous others on how to improve the quality of their hiring decisions by using competency-based selection practices and behavioral interviewing. Heath believes that employees (a company’s human capital) are the most important asset of the organization. He also believes that the most accurate predictor of future performance is a person’s past performance in a similar situation.

Heath has developed and continues to enhance his skills while delivering effective, interactive, competency-based training programs on candidate sourcing, preemployment testing, hiring process best practices, competency-based behavioral interviewing, management development, team and communication development, succession planning, compensation plan design, and organizational development.

When Heath’s not improving retention and performance for his clients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Michelle Lima, HR Services Manager

As an experienced Customer Service Consultant for ZERORISK HR, Michelle provides extensive knowledge and support to a broad spectrum of clients for pre-employment assessment and hiring/selection practices. Prior to joining ZERORISK HR, Michelle developed in-depth experience in recruiting, interviewing, and placement during 8 years as a senior associate in a Dallas executive search and staffing firm.

Michelle’s background also includes experience in servicing multinational insurance accounts and maintaining strong insurance relationships. Through this experience, she honed her exceptional project support and client service skills that she now imparts to ZERORISK HR clients and resellers.
