Individual Contributor Development Program

What is the Clear Direction Individual Contributor Development Program?

Individual Contributor Development Program The Clear Direction Individual Contributor Development Program is a 6-month program designed for employees that are not in supervisory or management roles. The program provides objective descriptions about the individual’s biases in their thinking, as well as the clarity within those biases (i.e., Emotional Intelligence) that allow for accurate decisions in their daily work and interaction with their peers and direct manager. By working through this program, the participant will develop greater Self-Awareness by working on personalized development suggestions and receiving ongoing reinforcement to encourage personal growth and development. The Individual Contributor Program Provides the following.

  • 60-page Profile Report highlighting Strengths & Weaknesses as an Individual Contributor
  • Kick-Off Call led by a ZERORISK Consultant to Provide an overview of the program to the participants
  • 13 personalized eLessons e-mailed every other week over the course of 6 months that take approximately 20 minutes a week to work on. The content of the 13 eLessons are as follows.
    1. Deliberate, Automatic and Reactive Thinking
    2. Establishing Your Trustworthiness – Producing a Consistent & Excellent Work Product
    3. A Flexible, Responsive, and “Can Do” Approach
    4. Organizing – Being Dependable with the Little Things
    5. Prioritizing – Doing the Most Important Things First
    6. Being Bigger than the Job: Manifesting a Learning Attitude and Habits
    7. Adding More than You Are Taking – Bringing Energy
      You & Your Boss
    8. Things are Under Control
    9. Bringing About Desired Results
    10. Why Surprising Your Boss is Deadly – Performing Within the Rules, Conventions, and Expectations
    11. Things are Under Control
      You & Your Peers
    12. Earning the Respect of Your Colleagues
    13. Respecting Your Colleagues
    14. Team Etiquette
  • Individual Contributor Development ProgramMonthly Team Debrief Session (via conference call) with a ZERORISK Consultant. This monthly call is a 60–90 minute call (length of the call depends on the size of the team) whereby each participant can share their experiences on how they applied the two eLessons they worked on the past month. This debrief session allows the participants to learn from each other, and to discuss what worked, what didn’t work, and improvement suggestions.

What are the benefits of the program?

  • Enhances self-awareness by addressing the source of the behavior (thinking) rather than the symptoms (personality), and provides personalized development content rather than a “one size fits all” approach—If we want to change behavior, we must first change our thinking.
  • Provides practical development tips that can be applied in the work environment rather than in a classroom setting—Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.
  • Stimulates and directs communication about relevant matters between the individual and his/her boss and team.
  • Provides ongoing reinforcement over the course of 6-months—Learning is best if it is a lifestyle, not an event!
